Wayne Makes a Brief Visit to Southern Illinois

Every year, Wayne runs down to his old 

home neighborhood to put grave flowers. 

This was his trip for 2008.

First, he stopped in Nashville to see  Aunt Rachel and Paula.

Aunt Rachel had the old McKinstry family bible. It tells when each of the children was born.

Then to the cemetery.   The wind made the basket hard to get right.

The road has changed since Back When.   There never used to be stripes and  a line down the middle.

Then to the old home place.   The present owners let me make some pictures of the barn. Yes, it has seen better days.

     

The house looks nice.   They painted the siding, and it looks really good.
