 signed the Declaration of Independence.
He is my first cousin, 8 times removed.

When John Witherspoon was born on 5 February 1722, in Gifford, Yester, East Lothian, Scotland, United Kingdom, his father, Reverend James Alexander Witherspoon III, was 31 and his mother, Anne Walker, was 25. He married Elizabeth Montgomery on 2 September 1748, in Scotland, United Kingdom. They were the parents of at least 6 sons and 3 daughters. He died on 15 November 1794, in Princeton, Mercer, New Jersey, United States, at the age of 72, and was buried in Princeton Cemetery, Princeton, Mercer, New Jersey, United States.
