![]() Sarah M. Abbott was born in southern Indiana, May 3, 1855, departed this life February 6th, 1920. At the age of ten years, she moved with her patents to Louisville, Clay County, Illinois. March 22, 1877, she was married to Horace B. Wilson. To this union ten children were born, two dying in infancy, and one son, James Arthur, preceeded her December 19, 1918. The surviving children are: Mrs. Charles Helms, Mrs. Fred Greenwalt, Mrs. Tyra Mills, Mrs H.E. Donoho, Horace Benjamin, Amos Abbott and Mrs. Everett Gregory. Also one step-son William M. Wilson. She was converted to Christ in early life and lived a faithful and consistent Christian to the end. She was a member of the Methodist Protestant church at Garrison Temple. Her death was caused by influenza. A short funeral service was conducted by Rev. Bamey C. Byars, at the Garrison Cemetery, where her remains were laid to rest to await the resurrection of the just. She leaves to mourn her departure, besides her husband and children, one brother, J. H. Abbott of Gate, Okla., and one sister, Mrs. L.C. Lentz, of The Dalles, Oregon, and a host of friends and relatives. We should not weep as those who have no hope, for we hope to meet her again in the sweet bye and bye, where parting will be no more. Blessed are the dead which dieth in the Lord, yea from henceforth saith the Sprit, they may rest from their labors and their works do follow them. Written by her children, who will rise up and call her blessed. |
