Shirley
Jo McKinstry, 64, of Chatham, passed away Thursday, December 11, 2014
at
St. John's Hospice. She was born on June 18, 1950 in
Harrisburg, IL to Quentin and Louise Wesley Swan. She was
preceded in death by her father. Shirley married Wayne
McKinstry on December 28, 1974. She earned degrees from
Southeastern Illinois College and Southern Illinois University and was
employed as a math teacher most of her life. She also worked
as a tutor, computer trainer, piano teacher and contributor to the
website ministry-to-children.com. She was a member of Western
Oaks Baptist Church, and worked at various time as a Sunday School
director, GA leader, WMU Director, children's teacher and children's
director as well as participated on committee work. Shirley
will be greatly missed my her husband, Wayne; daughter Amy (Keith)
Tyndall of Brookline, MO; son, David (Lindsay) McKinstry of Front Royal
VA; grandchildren Lydia Tyndall, Luke Tyndall, Caleb McKinstry, Hadley
McKinstry and Reid McKinstry; mother, Louise Swan of Harrisburg.
Her family will greet friends from 2-4 Sunday, December 14,
at Staab Polk Memorial Home, 8855 State Route 4, Chatham, IL
62629. Her funeral ceremony will be at 1pm, Monday
December 15, at Staab Polk Memorial Home, Chatham, with Pastor Delbert
Halleman officiating. Burial will follow at Chatham Memorial
Cemetery. For those who wish, memorials may be made to
