Happy Birthday from Amy

Dear Grandma,

You have always been very interested in what I do and what I like. When I was a little girl, you would always fix foods that you knew I liked when I visited you. You have always sent me cards for my birthday and every other holiday. Now that I am grown, you keep up with when I am traveling and want to know when I safely return home. I know that I am never far from your mind.

I remember doing crafts with you when I was young. One time we made Smurf shrinky-dinks in your oven. Another time we built a doll house together. You taught me how to crochet, and very recently, you crocheted baby afghans for Lydia. I'm glad Lydia will be able to enjoy something handmade by you.

The most important thing you have done for me is to pray. When I visit you, I see you reading your Bible and praying for missionaries. This is a wonderful example and heritage I hope to pass on to Lydia. I also know that you are very faithful praying for me, and I believe that is one reason God has blessed my life.

I'm glad you are my grandma, and I'm glad Lydia gets to know her great-grandma. I love you. Happy birthday.

Love,
Amy
