Our Trip to Chicago - May 2009

Millennium Park

Millennium Park is one section of Chicago's huge Grant Park.

Millennium Park Monument

The Cloud Gate (also called the Bean)

Wayne and his reflection - also an end view of the Cloud Gate

The Pritzker Pavilion and the framework crossing the Great Lawn

The roof looks like a spaceship or something. I guess the framework holds lights and speakers.

The Crown Fountain consists of two large rectangular structures with water pouring down the sides. Each has a screen with a huge face.
The brick design is a series of pipes that release water all over the sides.
We didn't see it, but sometimes a huge stream of water comes out where the person's mouth is.

The red dragon is one of the Chinese sculptures in the park.

The Lurie Garden is in one corner of Millennium Park.

Buckingham Fountain

The fountain is in Grant Park and has been there a long time.

Somtimes the fountain sprays really high.
